GearIQ Privacy Policy

When you use GearIQ we collect information you provide during your consultation including your name, height, weight, gender, ability level, terrain preference, budget range, days per season, home resort, and current gear. If you create an account we also collect your email address and password which is stored securely through Supabase authentication. We collect your sport preference and the recommendations generated for you.

We use your data solely to generate personalized ski and snowboard gear recommendations. We do not sell your data to third parties. We do not share your data with brands or retailers. Affiliate links in our recommendations are tracked by Backcountry through AvantLink and Popfly for commission purposes. When you click a product link your click may be tracked by those third party services under their own privacy policies.

GearIQ offers a kids gear consultation feature for parents shopping for children. We comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. All kids consultation data is provided by and attributed to the parent or guardian who confirmed consent before beginning the consultation. Parents may request deletion of their child's data at any time by emailing hello@geariq.org.

Your data is stored securely in Supabase, a third party database provider based in the United States. Supabase encrypts data at rest and in transit. We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account your data is permanently removed.

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by emailing owenavedian12@gmail.com. We will respond within 30 days.

GearIQ uses minimal cookies required for authentication and session management. We do not use advertising cookies or tracking pixels beyond what is required for affiliate link attribution.

We may update this policy as the product evolves. We will notify registered users of material changes by email.
